The Local Government Service (LGS) is holding a two-day orientation for 170 newly recruited staff of the Service.
The new recruits, which included Information Technology, Internal Auditors, Budget Analyst, Agriculture officers, Statistics, Accounts, Environmental service, Social welfare and community development and Planning Officers would be oriented on all issues relating to the LGS to help the new employee adapt faster to the job, and improves employees retention at the local government level.
Topics including Leadership and Political Environment, Administrative writing, PMS/PC & LGS Protocols, Decentralisation/Legislation and Structure of the LGS and Reporting lines at the District Assembly levels, would be treated.
At the opening of Dormaa Zone session, the Regional Co-ordinating Director for the Bono Region, Mr. Andrews Okumah Nawil- in an address in Dormaa Ahenkro on thursday 24th August, 2023 said “the platform reflects our commitment to equipping our dedicated public servants with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles, ultimately contributing to the betterment of the service.”
He challenged the new officers to be team players and foster collaboration and innovation at any given opportunity to learn, engage and collectively strive for excellence in serving their communities.
He reminded the newly recruited staff that the Local Government Service has a crucial role to play in the development of the nation, adding that, that could be achieved through diligence, perseverance and dedication of disciplined staff, which should be instrumental in carrying out government policies.
Hon. Ouattara Drissa, Dormaa Central MCE in a welcome address, encouraged newly recruits to ensure higher performance and personal development in their career to enable them deliver quality services to the communities they serve.
He said if they failed to deliver the expected Government services, it would lead to the total failure of government policies and programs at the local level.
The newly recruits were posted to serve Dormaa West , Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly and Dormaa East District Assembly at Wamfie.
