NGO donates menstrual hygiene kits to schools in Dormaa East District

Women’s Health to Wealth, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), focused on supporting teenage girls in public schools, on 27th October, 2022 donated menstrual hygiene kits and toothbrush to some selected 24 schools in Dormaa East District.
Mr.Abraham Nkrumah (project coordinator WHW) and Mr.Yaw Frimpong (logistics officer WHW). explained that, pupils and students missed class schedules because of their periods, adding that It is expected that, the donation will help eliminate menstrual-related abscenteesm among girls of school going age.
Receiving the items, the team, Mrs Agnes Aseidu – District Health director, Mr. Ben Adibly Education HR and Miss Elizabeth Boampong, Girl Child Coordinator thanked WHW on behalf of the girl’s and district education directorates for their support and collaborative effort in nurturing and supporting well-being of the girls in the district.
Dormaa East District is one of the two selected in the Bono region with 24 selected schools in the district that are benefitting from the girls club projects by Women ‘s Health to Wealth with 48 club facilitators.
The donations form part of a nationwide movement to support female leaders through concerted efforts at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Establish Good Health and Well-Being) and 5 (Enforce Gender Equality).
