DCE Moves to GRIDCO at Berekum over power outage

DORMAA EAST DCE, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman, yesterday paid a working visit to the GRIDCO sub-station in Berekum.
According to Hon. Kofi Agyeman, the timely visit, would enable all his officer’s and GRIDCO engineers to be abreast with the challenge at hand and also to find out the effort being made to restore power as soon as practicable.
The engineers informed the team about the 33MVA transformer that supplies power to the entire area ie Berekum, Dormaa and Jaman had developed some fault.
Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman, said he could not sit in his office in Wamfie as towns and many businesses experienced intermittent power cuts.
Mr. Lawrence Doe, the GRIDCO area manager for Techiman and his team together with Nedco officials were on the ground leaving no stone unturned to restore power first through the 20MVA transformer.
The team were assured this was going to be done by close of work.
According to Mr. Doe, there may still be a Challenge after power has been restored through the 20MVA transformer since its capacity cannot supply power to the entire area covered by the sub-station. Power may therefore have to be rationed till the fault in the 33MVA is dealt with.
The team further commend GRIDCO/NEDCO for the efforts being made and appealed to ensure that power is fully restored as soon as practicable.
